The Sr. Manager, Continuous Improvement will coordinate and strategically lead supply chain performance improvement across and within our plants, distribution centers and suppliers. Responsible for lean production system design, effective problem-solving techniques, the design and management of performance improvement initiatives, training and coaching of personnel in all of the above, and advising the senior executives on the nature and progress of network wide improvement activities. Responsible for the direct supervision of CI personnel that either reside at corporate, at the plants, or in the field.
TRAVEL: This role will require travel up to 80% typically Monday through Thursday.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
o Establish meaningful metrics, track CI performance and ensure alignment within their respective value stream. Use and teach effective problem solving skills and techniques to resolve gaps. Responsible for the knowledge transfer of Policy Deployment, Performance Management, Problem Solving, and other CI tools to constituents/customers.
o Direct management of CI team assigned to the respective value stream. This includes setting direction, managing and measuring performance, and ongoing coaching and development of team members.
o Diagnose the value stream to expose maximum potential value over the strategic plan.
o Work with constituents/customers to design common work standards and systems, and other elements of superior manufacturing practices, to aid in improvement and best practice sharing throughout the value stream/across value streams.
o Diagnose and evaluate performance (cost, quality, delivery, safety & morale) challenges stemming from demand management and forecasting, inventory management, capacity and production planning, and production process design and execution.
o Develop and implement solutions based on Lean Production system design and transformation principles, tools and techniques including Six Sigma.
o Stretch the organization by creating a learning environment/culture, problem solving, envisioning the future state condition, and leading towards fulfillment.
o Ensure CI culture preservation.
o Train and coach personnel in these and other capabilities.
o Proficient at using problem solving tools, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Six Sigma are skills desirable.
o Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to lead teams to high levels of success. This includes the ability to influence others, manage performance, coach and develop staff.
o Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks with continually changing priorities.
o Strong Microsoft Office Suite, Manugistics and SAP preferred.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred or related experience.
o 5 years functional process improvement experience in a manufacturing plant environment, or similar (i.e. other environment working to improve the process to convert a raw material into a semi-finished or finished product). Experience in a consumer packaged goods company is desirable.
o 5 years' experience implementing change using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methods and practices preferred.
o Experience leading change, and effectively managing teams to reach goals.
