Position Description: Under direct supervision of the Resident Engineer, this position is responsible for insuring that assigned construction projects are built in accordance with plans and specifications and for coordinating the activities of other personnel when surveying and inspecting contractor work. Additional responsibilities include: Analyze construction plans and monitor construction to ensure possible problems are identified, necessary changes recommended, and construction is in accordance with plans and specifications. Complete accurate records to facilitate current and final estimate payments to contractors. Test and evaluate materials to ensure adherence to AHTD specifications. Establish and maintain productive relationships with contractor supervisors to ensure materials are handled properly and that corrections in procedures are promptly made. Monitor concrete plants operations to ensure adequate and proper control of material production and proper gathering and testing of material samples. Qualifications are: High school diploma or GED and minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as bridge construction inspector. Certification in Soils/Earthwork and Certification in Portland Cement Concrete Testing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SiteManager software. Knowledge of surveying, engineering and construction plans, highway materials sampling and testing procedures. Must have valid driver''s license. _Job Title:_ Senior Inspector - Bridges
