Responsibilities:
SMSI is seeking a motivated and enterprising candidate for full-time employment at our Springfield, MO location.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to engineering, fabrication, construction, and service practices in Refrigeration, HVAC, Piping, and Electrical/Controls while acquiring experience and exposure to many of the following professional technical skills and methods:
o Applying sound engineering principles on active projectso Meeting deadlines and adhering to assigned scopes of worko Participating in department/company meetings and development programso Learning to prepare, read, and interpret drawings and other project documents.
o Gaining relevant field experience through job site visitso Participating as part of a project team in a field and office environmento Building professional interpersonal and collaboration skillso Utilizing industry software to develop engineering analyses and design drawings.
o Develop Critical Listening skills.
o Developing written and verbal presentation and communication skillso Acquiring technical skills through training and firsthand experienceso Manipulating and applying data to the analysis of real-world situationso Reading, interpreting, and properly applying design Codes and Standardso Developing critical thinking and practical application skillso Learning practical application of engineering principleso Learning administrative engineering procedures and protocolso Developing formal reports and calculation documentso Operating within an established job process and product quality frameworko Applicants must have completed a BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university and be prepared to take the Engineering Intern exam.
o Applicants must be able to demonstrate academic achievement, initiative, integrity, work ethic, and willingness to learn.
o Applicants must be able to demonstrate proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint, email, spreadsheets and AutoCAD and/or Revit.
o Experience with Revit or BIM preferred but not required.
o Occasional travel to project sites and other areas may be required.
Qualifications:
o Applicants must have completed a BS degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university and be prepared to take the Engineering Intern exam.
o Applicants must be able to demonstrate academic achievement, initiative, integrity, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
