Summary:
Associate Director, Accounting, within Corporate Accounting, is responsible for leading Finance Transformation and process improvement initiatives in Finance and Accounting. The focus will be on projects that expand capacity, support business initiatives, and/or improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls by leveraging systems, technology, automation and business process improvements. Building and maintaining effective working relationships with various levels in the organization and being a champion of Tyson's mission, core values, and team behaviors (the 5 Cs) are critical. Key responsibilities and duties as indicated below. Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Support, facilitate and/or lead various aspects of the Company's Finance Transformation efforts Manage pipeline of projects, plan resources, report status and communicate with stakeholders Develop metrics to track and report on business process improvements, efficiencies and ROI for various transformation initiatives Provide Governance over the prioritization and resource allocation of various projects Map business processes and facilitate process improvement by engaging subject matter experts and key stakeholders Ensure business process transformation includes appropriate controls and process documentation, and risks are appropriately identified and mitigated Lead the Corporate Accounting Trainee program including support the development of the trainees as well as recruitment of new candidates Manage Corporate Accounting intern program including managing recruitment activities and providing supervision to interns Manage and support various Corporate Accounting team member engagement initiatives Participate in additional special projects as needed including, but not limited to, technical accounting, merger, and acquisitions, accounting policy alignment and ad hoc
Qualifications:
the skills, abilities, specific knowledge, education and minimum experience necessary to perform this job. Education:
Requires a Bachelors degree in an academic field directly related and essential to this position; Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Also, Master's Degree, CPA designation or relevant experience preferred
Experience:
8 plus years of related experience in either private or public accounting preferred; experience in Big 4 public accounting firm at the senior manager level preferred Computer Skills:
Requires advanced computer skills; must have working ability with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; working knowledge of SAP preferred. Communication Skills:
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead, manage and interact professionally with a diverse team of resources, required. Special Skills:
Significant in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and transactional finance and accounting processes are required. Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressure team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues are required. Experience managing direct reports and managing teams through large projects, required. Experience with Global Business Services and/or process optimization concepts and solutions, preferred. Experience with process improvement/quality management methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, preferred. Supervisory:
May have future direct reports and must work in a TEAM with a wide variety of groups to accomplish responsibilities. Travel:
4 plus domestic trips per year; possibility of international travel.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
AccountingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
