Job Purpose/
Summary:
The purpose of this position is to work with and guide a multi-disciplined team of professionals to protect human health, the environment, and property as established by the Chief Environmental Officer and Operations senior management team. This position will ensure that Wastewater operations will remain in compliance, while maintaining alignment with strategic operating plans and business unit performance metrics consistent with Tyson Core Values. Responsibilities Include:
Assist facilities to manage and meet all environmental regulations by ensuring all compliance assets related to Tyson operations are in place and fully functioning, through partnership with business unit operations. Identify and influence the development of future upgrades/updates to a facility's wastewater infrastructure, in conjunction with BU Subject Matter Experts, and direct the implementation of upgrades/updates to ensure proper functionality for the wastewater operators. Collaborate with managers and develop qualified and effective Team Members in the positions of wastewater supervisors and wastewater operators in partnership with business unit operations. Advise wastewater personnel in proper lab procedures and give guidance to new operators with respect to Tyson policies. Lead wastewater personnel in troubleshooting adverse/upset conditions and promptly communicate wastewater compliance issues to appropriate Tyson management teams. Advise on manufacturing process to develop and monitor methods to reduce loading on wastewater treatment systems. Oversee and manage operational expectations regarding the implementation of sustainable waste stream reduction initiatives within the production facility. Train wastewater supervisors/operators in formulating site specific plans to reduce power consumption and/or reduce overall wastewater operational costs. Review and develop new technologies for the benefit of Tyson and in partnership with business unit operations. Coach environmental managers and wastewater personnel on sustaining requirements within the Tyson Wastewater Standard and other elements of the Environmental Management System. Mentor wastewater personnel in oversight of all of Tyson's environmental policies and procedures, in conjunction with site CEMs/EMs and corresponding AEMs. Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in natural science environmental science or engineering required.
Experience:
6 plus years' experience in wastewater compliance field. Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word Excel and Power Point Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of Team Members; bilingual skills are a plus. Special Skills:
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to drive concurrent projects to completion; comfortable influencing all levels of the organization; strong team and collaboration skills; demonstrates ability to think creatively and drive innovation; and Project Management concepts and techniques
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Engineering Management, Civil EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
