Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IS department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. The principal goals are to manage the technical environment for multiple departments and to attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization. The position will plan, coordinate, direct, and design operational activities of specific IS functional teams as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission critical business operations. The position will work with various decision makers and foster relationships across the organization while overseeing a variety of IT related risk management activities to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective solutions for all aspects of the organization, as well as define and implement IT policies, standards, procedures and best practices. Position will be responsible for developing and implementing information security awareness and training programs while keeping abreast of new solutions and positioning them within the company.
Responsibilities include: analyzing the needs of customers and establishing priorities for system design and implementation; understand and ensure compliance to IS standards and methodology; recommend and develop plans for systems development and operations, hardware, software and equipment purchases; budget and staffing; negotiate and contract with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products; personnel administration of IS resources, both internal and external - interview, hire and train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees for performance; address complaints and resolve problems; review and advise customers in the selection, procurement usage and maintenance of technology solutions.
Other duties include: prepare reports and make formal and informal presentations to Tyson executive management; provide direction to the vendors and stay current on the latest technologies of the systems supported by the organization to assist in the future planning of necessary IT initiatives; responsible for overall quality of solutions supporting the business; conduct feasibility studies to support buy verses build decisions; design and implement training plans for team members as well as mentor their professional development; manage capital, travel, and training budgets for the organization. This position will proactively work with the Tyson businesses and stakeholders to implement practices that meet defined policies and standards for information security as well as communicate regularly to ensure leadership at all levels are informed about efforts and trends impacting the overall effectiveness of the information security programs. Other duties include responsibility for the ongoing development and implementation of the information security project portfolio, incident response and security policy framework and the implementation of compliance requirements across the company partnering with cross functional teams to ensure compliance across the company.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 10
years' domain expertise in Information Security Management; proven leadership skills in business management and experience in recruiting, motivating, mentoring and growing productive security organizations.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate security related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
Special Skills: Strong technical skills relevant to information security such as secure coding standards, ethical hacking techniques and related technologies along with an understanding of the ISO2700x framework and programs; analytical, organizational and problem solving skills; ability to plan, direct and evaluate technology programs; excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Travel: Domestic and international travel required; frequency based on business needs.
